Kari Hamanaka is a native of Orange County and has worked for various business trades throughout Southern California.

She currently covers the residential and retail markets at The Real Deal, based out of Los Angeles. Her areas of focus have spanned logistics and the supply chain for Sourcing Journal; breaking and enterprise coverage of the West Coast fashion industry for Women’s Wear Daily; and OC’s largest public and private companies in the apparel, retail, restaurants, automotive and advertising industries for the Orange County Business Journal. She began her career covering commercial real estate during the Great Recession for the California Real Estate Journal.
